Damian Lynn in Aarau

Do you like Ed Sheeran? The British ginger with the small guitare and the loopstation, who sings songs like “A-Team”, “Lego House” or the Lord Of The Rings-sountrack “Fire”? If you like him, you also like Damian Lynn . You don’t like Ed Sheeran? Still have a listen to Damian Lynn. He and his bandmate Marcel are on clubtour at the Moment and also stopped at Kiff in Aarau.

Well, you’ve probably heard of him before, or read about the Luzern guy here on my blog…?! However, so we started our Weekend with Damian Lynn at Kiff. With ‘we’ I mean of course the audience, some friends of me and me included. I wasn’t 100% well – the stupid flu that is or was going around, got me. But I just couldn’t be ill. Just NOT!

Album: “Count To Ten”

Everything was though, as expected, very relaxed: The concert took place at the Kiff, at Foyer, that take about 250 visitors. It wasn’t at full capacity, but well crowded. Around 8.45 pm Damian with guitare and loopstaton as well as Marcel on the drums entered stage and started with “Between the line” – one of the Songs that was or stil is played up and down on the Radios. And it was followed more or less by the whole album “Count To Ten”, that was released about 10 months before. I had seen Damian Lynn live several times before, but never on own clubtour but as Support act of Caroline Chevin, Bligg or Pegasus as well as on various festivals and other events. By the way, he had just returned from Germany being on tour as a support of Stefanie Heinzmann.

The Swiss Music Award winner in category “Best Talent” charmed with soft guitare sounds and wonderful lyrics the esp. very young audience. This showed when he played this Little game letting people sing along and cheer in gge groups. I definitively belonged to the rather rare, older group. At the beginning it seemed a bit difficult as the audience was rather talkactive. When Damian mentioned before “Winter” that this was going to be one to listen to, it felt like a hint to be quite. Luckily the whole atmosphere changed soon after. Esp. the uptempo titles as “Tell Me” [Video here] or “Show My Love To You” went down very well with the audience and let themselves electrify by the covers of LFMO’s “Sexy and I know it” as well as “Thrift Shop” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. Also with Damian’s Version of “Sitting on the dock of the bay”, though most seemed not to know it before. Inbetween the Songs Damian told about the Formation of single tracks, tour occasions and experienses as well as the link between his real name and his Artist name, where there’s not a too big difference between “Lingg” and “Lynn”.

With “Go” the concert and a super nice evening ended. Damian is playing on 7th May in Wetzikon and on 20th Mai in Hasliberg, before the festival season will start. Check his website for more infos.
