Orpundart 2014

Orpundart Werbung 20min

With my small, red Mobility car I was off direction Orpund to the 4th Orpundart. I’ve already been there last year, back then for the first time. The advice to use google maps as satnav proofed of value. Cut crossing the field I got to the parking, when I thought I’d never arrive and prayed that it wouldn’t rain. I sure would never have gotten out of that bristly field again. haha. It was though a super summer evening with great music, fabulous entertainment and a suprise…

So there was a trio sitting front row under the burning sun. That they would be friends of me, couldn’t be any different ^^ Otherwise none was interested in the stage yet. The area was as expected stil quite empty. At the entrance oyu met the sprayers working on the graffitis. Wasn’t any different last year. There were several food stand and bars. Many sat at the tables having dinner. Up in the VIP tent they were sipping their champagnes. Ritschi himself put the water bottles ready for him and his band mates. The programme was Bern orientated on this years Orpundart. Next to Ritschi, there were also Trauffer and Pegasus from the canton. The dialect singer from Bernese Oberland started his concert about 1 hour after my arrival.

First he apologized for his sunglasses, but without he would have been running around blindly. But the sun was so glorious. My first Ritschi concert since the release of the actual album. A little “Bla Bla”, there were sure no “Schisstäg” [Video here]  and to be “Uf dr Flucht” (on the run)  [Video here] wasn’t necessary either at all. How great was it, when the audience sang along to the Plusch song “Heimweh” [Video here]. And the people enjoyed it obviously. When he got out his ukulele for “Öpfelboum u Palme”, he definitively won. 77 Bombay Street and James Gruntz got me infected with this ukulele virus. And Ritchi’s song simply gets you into this wonderful holiday and freedom vibes – it suited perfectly with this great summer evening. Once he went into the audience, sang with some Orpundart visitors, let everyone sway their arms and at the end he got some fans on stage for “Probier mi doch mal us” [Video here], to show a little choreo with the song. A super relaxed and nice start into the concert evening.

Where Trauffer is performing, there’s party. Not only in Orpund. It continued a little wilder then. But yes, summer time is holiday time and now, when I could take part again, when singer Moni was on stage too, Chrigu was missing on the drums 😉 The show was however really successful. A little swaying with “Mühe mit de Chüeh”, a little “Zumba” to loosen and a short trip into “Weschtschwiiz”. Marc also seems to love to get out the cassette recorder to explain the little ones, what it was. And somehow everone was always waiting for “zjung für mi”, to sing and bawl along. At the end there was a great silver confetti rain.

Pegasus started their show like in Etziken with Digital Kids and also the rest of the setlist was quite similar. Suddendly it was a lot more crowded in front of the barrier. Of course, it was a home play for the four Biel guys. First they heated up with old and new hits, then there was a cooling – at least for frontguy Noah. This was the mentioned surprise: The “Ice Bucket Challange” also reached Pegasus. They made a hat circulate so the Orpund audience could donate and at the end Noah personally went up into the VIP tent to get it back. And he got a bucket full of ice – litterally. Cos it was more ice cubes than ice water. The whole thing of  course was documented and you can watch on their youtube channel (VIDEO here). And people didn’t really want to stop donating anymore – they got a real change rain, because everyone started throwing it on stage. Totally crazy and funny.

Great atmosphere. Great concert and again finished way too quickly. The whole evening visitors as well as the bands seemed so relaxed and in a good mood. It followed a very short night. But it was worth it again.
