Platzfäscht in Zurich

“Is it still raining?” – we didn’t care, because were were standing under the roof in the shelter. We got big eyes, when we shockingly discovered, that there was a “VIP area” in front of the stage, for which you only could win tickets. I totally missed out on that. But “no panic, we’ll get in there somehow”, I said. So when the concert should start at 7 pm with EKR feat. El Italiano (I get to know via Wikipedia, that they are in the business since the 80s already. Never heard of them), we were standing just like that behind the front barrier. They decided then, that even the ones without tickets could go there. It was very empty at this time 😉 Yeah, that was easy!

What news! Hecht announced after 7,5 months finally another concert – at Platzfäscht in Zurich. Of course the joy was huge. And when even Pegasus were added to the programme, it was perfect! The whole thing with free admission. Last Friday we were off to Zurich to the Platzfäscht on Sechseläutenplatz then. My camere stayed at home that day unfortunately 🙁 A big part of the stage was sheltered. The “Böög” was ready for today and the whole squre was changed into a festival area. EKR did start. Already after the first few tunes I’ve been dreading. “WTF?! Wo or what is this?”. There was little to no vibes to the end. Well, the sound was pretty bad. What the Aargau rapper wanted to tell us in his songs, you barely understood. It was simply not loud enough. But it didn’t seem anyway, that many liked his music. It didn’t really go down well.

Yes, what won’t you not do for your favourite bands. Even though the sound didn’t really get any louder, the vibes became immediately better when Hecht were next. But their dialect pop songs like “Italia”, “Tänzer”, “zÄndi vor Wält” or “Tanze Tanze” immediately tempt to sing along and dance. Esp. us fans had a lot of fun to see the five of them live again after such a long time. Unfortunately only for half an hour and then they had to leave the stage again. Not even an encore. But well, better than nothing.

Skor followed. And how he sat there flabby on his stool with the scraggy hair and beard, cigarettes and beer in the hand, we rolled our eyes. Rather annoyed and bored we were watching and listening the whole spectacle more or less. We worried inbetween, that he might fall of his chair soon. Of course the Piano during the song “I de Schwiz”, de only one I knew, came from the DJ desk. We were everything but enthudiastic and somehow they could at least try harder for such a performance.

Luckily Pegasus were next then. In the meantime the barrier behind us was gone. The heart and the instruments got put up. And so the five of them played their show, they was we knew it. Live, with a lot of power and humour. The sound became a little better meanwhile. A bit loudar, you could understand Pegasus reasonably. Noah did dare to start discussing about football – and obviously he just loved to bring out FCB and all the other in Zurich not very popular football and hockey clubs. The boo shoutings were for granted. At some point I thought, something will come flying soon – people kept their temper thouhg 😉 The concert was great! A good mix out of older and new songs. The general vibe was immediately so much better. And at least they were allowed to play a little longer with even two encores.

What was after them: Alex Price and Remady & Manu-L. I am not intressted in at all. To hear the DJs from the outside was perfectly ok. All this boom boom and hopping around on stage, I really can’t stand. Doesn’t really have to do anything with music. To play his playlist from the ipod, anyone can do?! 😛 Manu should better tour with myron. Well, my opinion.

Did meet many acquaintances again on that day. But also got to know new people – other Pegasus fans. I love that. That’s what makes a concert / festival, not just the music and bands 🙂

But what more you see then as well. People absolutely wanted to meet Noah Veraguth and talk to him, but didn’t even know that they were just talking to the keyboard player of the band. Esp. as the concert ended only minutes ago. It’s a pitty, when people only want to meet the front guys and the band members getting pushed to the front by media. Noah Veraguth is not making Pegasus on his own. Of course it’s not just them, seen the same with other bands so often. But that’s the most recent example. All the band members are important after all.

Around 2 am I was at home then and fell into bed. I urgently had to catch up with some sleep since the middle of the week 😉
