What a surprise when I discovered on the das Zelt website, that Anna Känzig was going to be support act of 77 Bombay Street in Lenk, at das Zelt. I had seen reports about her at Joiz and seen her last December at “Jeder Rappen zählt” in Luzern, but didn’t really know how she does sound live so far. So this did match very well.
What I didn’t expect then was, that Tobey Lucas was with her. I only saw that, when I already was queuing for doors oppening in Lenk and he did post it on facebook. I was very happy to finally get the chance to see them in duet. Anna and Tobey played songs by her and him in turn. The least of the audience knew them, so the atmosphere was rather restrained. I liked it a lot more to see live than when I saw it on Youtube. They bot ha really a nice duo. What was a bit disturbing though, was that Anna’s soft voice almost disappeared and a moment I almost wished, she would have performed on her own, so I really could listen to her. But she wasn’t 100% well on that evening and this would probably have made the difference.
