Al Pride at Uni Irchel in Zurich

That Al Pride would play a concert at the University Irchel party in Zurich that evening, I totally missed out. Actually I wanted to be good and going to gym, but this was a lot more tempting. So, 5.30 pm out of the office and spontaniously off to Zurich.

A beautiful, beautiful evening. The sun was cast its last golden rays over the city of Zurich, single rain drops did fall from a few clouds. Okay, i admit, the summer feeling wasn’t really there. It was way to cold on that evening. Maybe that was pressing the mood of the party a bit at the beginning.

I was already afraid, I’d get lost again. But there the colorful band bus of Al Pride was standing, from far I could see the crowd and the band was just gettin the stage ready and soundchecking, when I arrived. So I was right and found my way. “You are at every concert”, I got told- however I should understand that?! It took a moment until the concert started. At the beginning most of the audience were restrained, then they got slowely more into the music of Al Pride. some were dancing and even wildy messing around in front of the stage. It became to crowed and wild for me then, when everyone got closer. I went into the back, because I simply wanted to listen and see Al Pride. At the last show I had visited (Blog: Al Pride at Komplex Klub), Astrid wasn’t there. It was okay, but I was missing her voice and so I was happy to see the complete band. The exact setlist I can’t remember anymore – the actual single “Waterfalls”, “Something” as well as “Red Glasses” were part of it for sure.

The concert ended quickly. They were playing about half an hour. That they won’t play too long, I knew before, but that wasn’t even planned by the band this way. They even had to leave one of the songs, so the next band could play. Really stupid! But I won’t complain. I was happy and content, that I could see Al Pride live on this evening. Different to others, who obviously worked themselves up quite a lot, as it was so short. Although I definitively had the longer journey 😉

On my way home, I did swear not to go to Zurich during the week anymore. That’s always quite stressful with the public transport and is ending way too often into small or big adventours (Blog: Pegasus at Photobastei). First I missed my tram and then I took the one in the wrong direction. I just caught the very last train by a whisker. I was so angry with myself – my thoughts are just so often somewhere else. Well, until I remembered that latest on 4th June I’d be back in Zurich during the week – for Ryan keen. And so the fret was gone and me ready to risk more such (small) adventures. It’s too good and too much fun to give up on it.
