Nine major events with well-known Swiss show acts at various locations in Switzerland and Liechtenstein as a work process: That is the Swiss Education Showcase “Next Generation 2021” project. The event industry, which has been hard hit by the pandemic, goes on the education offensive with these virtual showcases in February and March – and the young people in the industry show their skills together with the training companies!
Due to the ban on events, the basic vocational training of the students in the “Event Specialist EFZ” course also suffers. In addition, many training companies have been confronted with a complete standstill in their activities for a long time. As a result, a number of skills in the basic vocational training of the next generation of the industry cannot be taught at all or only insufficiently.
The Swiss Association of Technical Stage and Event Professions (svtb-astt) has therefore launched a project together with the partner association artos and the training companies as well as the support of the federal government and the cantons, which aims to close these gaps – the Swiss Education Showcase “Next Generation 2021 ».
Bands can interact with fans
A total of nine major events in Switzerland and Liechtenstein will be implemented and carried out by the learners under the direction of a teaching company (OdA). In the form of large-scale virtual showcases. Well-known Swiss artists are part of the project and will rock the big stage – professionally staged with light and sound by talented young people from the industry.

In case the ban on events is loosened at the end of February, a limited number of fans will be able to attend live directly at the respective venue – subject to strict adherence to the security concept.
